In 2012, Shubhakshika set up a shelter Home under JJ Act for the street children like beggars, ragpickers, school dropouts, neglected children and children involved in drug abuse.
The NGO provides all the amenities that a child has a right to, besides, constant counseling of children and their parents with a challenging objective of weaning these children off their negative and vulnerable situations. Love and care is integral to the project.
The NGO rescues lost / missing children from vulnerable points like railway stations, metro stations, flyovers and other places and restores them to their families.The NGO provides food, clothing, medical aid, books, Stationary and other articles of daily need.
The NGO maintains a healthful, positive and interesting activity schedule for the children to bring about the required change.
The Non – Formal Educational for the deprived classes / school dropouts, started in 2001, picked up momentum in 2006 when we reached out to Juvenile Jail for children in conflict with law and Alipur Boys Home for Orphans and homeless children. Later in 2009, the NGO extended the NFE programme to 11children and women Homes run under Women & Child Development, Delhi namely five women and children homes in Nirmal Chhaya,two homes for boys in Alipur, two homes for orphans boys in lajpatnagar, observation home Sewa Kutir and Place of safety in Majnu ka Teela for special boys.
The NGO. Has provided education to nearly 10,000 women and children till now.
The NGO runs bridge courses for children and adults who have missed few years of education and cannot get admission to school now . These candidates are registered with NIOS under NGO run Rising ray education centre to pass upto class 8.
A new initiative on ‘Girl Child Project’ has been launched for promoting education for the neglected girls. The project aims at empowering girls from slums through education, sex education and training in soft skills along with self defense training.
The target beneficiaries of the project are girls who have never been to school for various reasons like working as maids with their mothers or looking after younger siblings when parents are at work or picking rags or begging to add to the family income.
Skill development workshops are proposed to be organized to impart training in useful skills. This project would further the efforts in eradicating begging & providing education & dignity to underprivileged children.

Health Camps for slum dwellers like Eye check-up camp, ENT camp, Dental care camp, Cancer detection camp are regularly organised.
A) LIGHT SKILL COURSES LIKE ART & CRAFT, DRAWING AND PAINTING, BASIC STITCHING, DANCING, PERSONAL GROOMING AND SOCIAL ETIQUETTE.
B) Employment Oriented Courses- BOOK BINDING, ELECTRICIAN, STITCHING, ENGLISH SPEAKING AND COMPUTERS.
Vocational Training is an essential component of Rehabilitation of children.Shubhakshika provides vocational training as per the ability and aptitude of the children in various skills More than 3000 candidates have been trained for livelihood.
The ngo provides coaching and support to the talented children who are interested in sports. We have voluntary coaches for taek-wondo, cricket, badminton etc. We keep organizing sports events and encourage the participants with prizes too.
Shubhkakshika Educational Society was formed and registered in June 1993 under Society Act of 1860 by professors of Delhi university, school teachers,professionals and others committed to social causes. The Society has been working for education , rehabilitation and uplift of the underprivilegedand the marginalised sections of the society by providing opportunities for education, by imparting employment oriented vocational skills, by creating awareness about relevant issues through camps and workshops and by procuring and distributing articles of basic needs to the needy.
